James Robert Clark Laurel MS Obituary, Death:- James Robert Clark, Jr., 63, of Laurel, Mississippi, passed away on February 7, 2026, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 16, 1962, in Laurel, James lived a life marked by adventure, humor, and an unshakable zest for life.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, James was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Clark, Sr.; mother, Esther Clark; daughter, Casey Clark; and sister, Belinda Leatherwood.
He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie Clark; children Ava Clark and James Robert Freeman; mother Lilly Bright; siblings Melissa Clark, Mike Bright, and Stephanie Ford; six grandchildren—Seth, Noah, Caleb, Ella, Kennedie, and James—and one great-grandchild, Kullen, alongside a large extended family and many cherished friends.
James was larger than life, a former drag racer at heart who embraced every moment with excitement. As owner of Clark’s Mobile Homes in Laurel, he lived by the motto, “We do it for a living, not a killing,” blending hard work with humor, generosity, and big ideas.
An avid outdoorsman, James loved hunting and fishing, often sharing his passion with others, creating lifelong bonds and unforgettable memories.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by memorial services at 12:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. James’s legacy will live on in laughter, stories, and the love he shared, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
